The Cardinal Newman Library at St. Mary’s University College is the culmination of a series of projects undertaken by Isherwood+ Ellis as part of a five year framework.

The accommodation at ground floor level consists of IT facilities, bookable rooms for collaboration and study, the writing centre (a unique facility providing writing advice, help and support for students) and the collaborative stair.  There is also access to the previously unused courtyard, which has been fully relandscaped as part of the library works.

The first floor houses the majority of the book stock and also provides collaborative study areas, the issue desk and staff base.

The transformative impact of the library hub was so apparent to the College Board that the planned refurbishment of the adjacent Dining Hall was immediately commissioned and upon completion.
